Jenna Lynn D.

My name is Jenna Lynn D.  I was diagnosed with Propionic Acidemia when I was 5 months old.  The doctors told my parents I would be severely handicapped and I was not expected to survive past the age of 2.  I am now 6 ½ years old, going to grade 2 in September 2005 at Charles Dickens Annex in Vancouver, BC Canada.  I get my very own Student Support Worker who helps me with my classroom needs such as feeding through my g-tube (I can eat a little by mouth, such as noodles and snacks), mobility (I have very low muscle tone, so I tend to fall often) and curriculum (I have excellent memory, but struggle a bit with writing and fine motor stuff).  I try very hard to keep up with the rest of my (inclusion) class and everyone is so proud of my accomplishments.  I have a little sister, Lauren who also has Propionic Acidemia.  I am a really good big sister.  I know how to share, sing, dance and even tell jokes.  I love to talk on the phone and am starting to use the computer.  If you want to e-mail me:  jenren@shaw.ca I can get my mommy to help type out my response.
